Day two took some planning. The flax seed went on the breakfast cereal. Done with that by 7:15 in the morning. When I got to work, instead of the usual cup of coffee, I made myself a cup of green tea. Done with that by 9:05 AM.
All of the weather people said it would rain on Monday. I worried that I wouldn't get in my walk so I did ten minutes around 10:30 and ten more around 12:30. Done with the whole thing.
I was wondering if these three simple things were so easy why was it that I hadn't been doing them?
For one thing, it's not that easy to close the office door behind me and say, "I'm taking a walk." That might be why I didn't do it much until this project. Now, though, I'm on a mission. I'm creating habits.
Two days down and nineteen to go.

But -- and this is just being the devil's advocate here -- isn't the point of a 20-minute walk that it should be 20 consecutive minutes? It seems that by taking two 10-minute walks, you aren't getting the full cardiovascular benefit of a 20-minute walk. Or maybe I'm just being the devil's idiot here.
Hmmm...You raise a valid point. However, when I presented my goals I did say that my 20 minute walk would be either in one block of time or in two ten minute blocks. In its exercise sections, Weight Watchers, I believe, says its okay to break up a twenty minute program like that. On the other hand, when this routine becomes a habit, I will doubtless change the two ten minute blocks to one twenty minute one. The point here is to experience success.
Thanks for advocating on the side of the devil, however. That's always useful.
I say at least you're attempting to make it one 20 minute walk. Two 10 nminute walks is better than none and perhaps as Mary says, the two can turn into one making it one 20 minute habit.
